Pilot Theatre are an international touring theatre company based in York. We’re committed to creating high-quality mid-scale theatre for younger audiences, and will be many people’s very first encounter with this form.

We also make work outside of traditional theatre buildings, where our projects pursue a relationship with our audience that is often playful, interactive and participatory.

We are always curious about our ongoing and changing relationship with technology and often explore this theme.

Across all our projects we seek to create a cultural space where young adults can encounter, express, and interrogate big ideas that are relevant to our lives right now.

For teachers

n partnership with schools, colleges and universities across the country, Pilot supports young people to participate in and be inspired by the arts, to nurture their artistic and personal development, and to open-up new opportunities and possibilities in their lives.

Workshops

Alongside our productions, we offer practical workshops for students to take part in drama, the arts, and creative writing. Led by professional arts practitioners, all our workshops are bespoke and tailored to the needs of your students, enabling them to engage more deeply with our work. Workshops can be scheduled pre- or post-performance in the classroom of your secondary school, college or university.
