Built in 1880 our home is a Victorian terraced house situated opposite St Johns church along the seafront. Just a 10 minute walk to the town and train station and 20 minutes to the harbour, we benefit from close proximity to the sea but also the quieter neighbourhood. All of our guests say how lovely and quiet the house is – perfect for a stay to recharge your batteries. Our dining room on the ground floor has the high ceilings and original coving valued by the Victorian architects. The front porch also still has the original tiling but modern architecture has allowed us to install a downstairs toilet – perfect after these long journeys! We benefit from two en-suite rooms on the ground floor – perfect if stairs are a problem.

Lynne was in the caring profession as nurse and midwife for the last 35 years – latterly working in healthcare IT and helping out during the pandemic as a Nurse Vaccinator. She really likes people and has honed her breakfast skills.  She turns her hand to most things, especially after 15 years with Andy, rolling up large bouncy castles and being Spongebob in the past! She takes it all in her stride.

All great preparation for the diversity that comes from running a guest house. As well as being the cook, she also loves managing the social media aspect of guest house management, posting regular news and photos on Facebook and Instagram. Lynne meets the new guests at check-in and makes them feel at home.

We have been offering a quality stay since November 2017, improving our rooms year on year, honing our breakfast skills and generally loving what we do, which makes many of our guests return year after year. In recognition we have been awarded Gold In the Dorset Tourism Awards in the Best B&B category and Best of the Best from Tripadvisor for the third year in a row! Attention to detail is key to the service we provide and this has been acknowledged in our numerous awards.

All guest rooms are en-suite, with tasteful decoration and comfortable beds – really important after a busy day exploring the beautiful county of Dorset. We are a professional yet friendly couple, and pride ourselves on our knowledge of the beautiful Dorset sights nearby, along with the best places to eat. Did you know Weymouth has many award winning restaurants, all within walking distance of St Johns! There’s Catch at the Old Fish Market and Les Enfants Terrible overlooking the picturesque harbour. We also have some new arrivals, including a tasty Thai. Take a look at our recommendations!
